- Schedule varies mostly M-F, 7pm -7am for 12 hours and 22:30-07:00 for 8 hours TBD. If rotation or straight 8 hrs. On-call all shifts and weekends as needed.
Duties: | "The Anesthesia Tech II has specialized experience as an Anesthesia Technician, and who is able to provide support to the Anesthesia providers and other members of the interdisciplinary team. This position is fully competent regarding anesthesia in all anesthetizing locations, supplies, and other related equipment. The Anesthesia Tech II works independently, and demonstrates the clinical skills necessary for assisting with anesthesia- related procedures; troubleshooting of equipment- regardless of anesthetizing location (IE: OR, Cath lab, OB/GYN, CV). This position serves as a Mentor to Anesthesia techs by utilizing skills and knowledge by helping to train and orient others."" • Assists anesthesiologist with preparation and placement of neurophysiologic monitors. • Assists with induction by connecting patient to monitors. • Assists with intubation. • Assists with the maintenance of patient’s airway. • Assists with the insertion of IVs and other invasive lines. • Assists anesthesiologist during outside cases. • Assists and anticipates needs of anesthesiologist in invasive monitor insertion and procedures such as arterial access, central venous access, fiberoptic intubation and/or difficult airway situations. • Provides support to the patient care team throughout the case. • Performs salvaged blood processing per protocol, as required by Department when needed. • Assists anesthesiologist with volume infusions as directed during intraoperative procedures." Skills: | "• Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the cardiopulmonary systems and infection control. • Advanced working knowledge of equipment for anesthesia and airway management and thorough knowledge of set-up and calibration of pressure transducer and IV fluids. • Ability to demonstrate knowledge relating to anesthesia procedures in order to effectively anticipate the needs of the anesthesiologist. • Ability to utilize and trouble shoot problems with equipment used in the administration of anesthesia. • Ability to set priorities and accept instructions and direction from physicians or other clinical personnel. • Demonstrate speed and timeliness in all duties, particularly in preparation for emergencies and trauma procedures. • Must be able to write and speak effectively in English. • Must be able to communicate and work well with staff in and outside of the department. Education: | Required- H.S. Diploma or GED Required- BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support via American Heart Association Candidate must have one of the below certifications: CER-A-T - Cert-Cert Anesthesia TECH via the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) OR "Associate's Degree - Completion of an anesthesia technician training program approved by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) - (5 years’ experience as an Anesthesia Technician will be accepted in lieu of the Cer-A-T)" Required- 3 years experience as an anesthesia technician |
